We are thrilled to announce our distinguished guest speaker for the upcoming Cross Timbers Rotary Club meeting on September 29th, Pam [Last Name]. Pam is not just a leader in her field; she's a dedicated champion and innovative partner, tirelessly seeking solutions for individuals facing complex challenges such as homelessness, mental health issues, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities in Denton County.
Pam's journey in the field of mental health and social services is nothing short of inspiring. She is a graduate of North Texas State University, holding a master's in education and a double major with a bachelor's in psychology and political science.
Pam's career with the Denton County MHMR Center spans an impressive 36 years, during which she has held a range of critical positions. She began as a mental health case manager and gradually progressed to roles such as supervisor of case management, intake supervisor, administrator of quality management, and human resources administrator. In 2012, Pam was promoted to the position of Executive Director, a testament to her leadership and commitment.
Under her guidance, the Denton County MHMR Center has implemented crucial Federal Medicaid 1115 programs, including a 24/7 Psychiatric Triage Unit to reduce emergency room visits for individuals in mental health crises, a Crisis Residential Unit to assist those transitioning from inpatient psychiatric facilities or jail, and an integrated clinic providing care to individuals with co-morbid diseases.
Pam's dedication extends beyond her organization, as she actively participates in initiatives like the zero suicide initiative and the Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors (LOSS) Team. Her influence reaches the statewide level, where she serves on the Texas Council Advisory Council and the Community Center's Executive Director's leadership team for 39 Community Centers across Texas.
Pam's passion for service is matched only by her love for her family, including her childhood sweetheart of 37 years, three children, and three adorable grandchildren. She also shares her home with two rescue ponies, a one-horned goat, and two long-horned steers.
Join us on September 29th to hear Pam [Last Name] share her insights, experiences, and the remarkable work she continues to do in our community. Her dedication to improving the lives of others is both inspiring and humbling, and we look forward to learning from her. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of an engaging and informative session!
