Our club recently provided funding to support new ADA-compliant, adaptive furniture for Special Abilities of North Texas (SANT), serving adult clients with developmental disabilities.

All of the equipment has arrived, and now we need 12–15 volunteers to help assemble and set up the furniture to create more inclusive, ergonomic, and flexible classroom spaces.

🪑 What We’re Setting Up

  • ADA-compliant adjustable-height desks

  • Heavy-duty, stackable sled-base chairs

  • Tables

This furniture will support diverse physical and sensory needs and will also serve as a model for future campus-wide upgrades.

🔧 Volunteer Tasks

  • Assemble desks (instructions are straightforward — comfort using a drill is helpful!)

  • Assemble tables

  • Move existing tables and chairs out of classrooms

  • Move new desks, tables, and chairs into classrooms

  • Break down boxes and remove cardboard/packing materials

  • Assist with trash removal (possibly a dump run if space fills up)

💡 Prefer a sit-and-work task?
We’ll also have lighter projects available, such as creating sensory bins and task boxes for classrooms.

👕 What to Bring

  • Comfortable clothes

  • Protective gloves

  • A battery operated drill (extra charged battery)

  • Closed-toe shoes

  • Willing hands and a great Rotary spirit!

This is a wonderful opportunity to see our club’s impact in action and make a real difference in a short amount of time. Thank you for serving! 💙💛
